Sydney Metro City & Southwest will deliver 30 kilometres of metro rail in Sydney, including a 17-kilometre tunnel section between Chatswood and Sydenham and a 13-kilometre section between Sydenham and Bankstown.
The project, which includes seven new underground metro stations, will increase rail capacity through the Sydney CBD, improve capacity and reliability on the rest of the rail network, and enhance resilience of the wider transport network by delivering a second harbour rail crossing.
